US technology Janrain makes it simple for web users to access new sites using their existing online accounts, from Google and Facebook, to MySpace and Yahoo. Used on 350,000 sites, Janrain manages the sign-on process for millions of end users and experiences huge peaks in demand. To minimise hardware costs and support real-time scaling of services, the company runs its systems on Ubuntu Cloud Guest in Amazon’s public cloud. Ubuntu leads the field in cloud infrastructure, offering limitless scalability with no licensing costs, tools for quickly deploying new instances and services , and the freedom to switch between cloud providers at will.
