About the solution
Canonical’s Managed Spark (Spark as a service) is now available as a Private Preview on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
This solution is designed to help your organization empower your data scientists and data engineers, without the need to deploy and manage the underlying infrastructure. The solution aims to improve the deployment experience and give access in a timely manner to an analytics environment.
Preview Process
We will work closely with customers who are selected for the Preview, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into our final design. They will get access to the expertise of our managed services team at no cost, so they can focus on using the platform, rather than running the operational burden of an analytics platform.
During the Preview, customers are required to pay only for the Azure Infrastructure that is used in delivering the service, i.e., the consumption of the AKS cluster, rather than Canonical’s managed services. The Managed Spark solution itself will be free of charge during the preview. Users will need quotas for GPUs, and Microsoft may not provide these for free or on sponsored subscriptions. Preview Terms is subject to the Supplemental Terms of Use for Microsoft Azure Previews. You should not use the Preview to process Personal Data or other data that is subject to legal or regulatory compliance requirements. Production SLAs will not be enforced during the preview period, and using these VMs for production workloads is not recommended.
