What’s Charmed Spark?
Charmed Spark is a fully supported, security maintained solution from Canonical for running production Spark big data workloads on Kubernetes. Charmed Spark is a complete solution which includes a distribution of Apache Spark with up to 10 years of enterprise support available per major release.

What’s MicroK8s?
MicroK8s is the mightiest tiny Kubernetes distribution, and it’s easy to deploy, cluster and maintain. MicroK8s comes with a powerful set of core addons to cover common deployment scenarios and a large number of community maintained addons that cover all kinds of needs. MicroK8s works well in low resource environments like an Ubuntu VM or your laptop, but is readily clustered to form a full scale production Kubernetes environment.
If you’re running Ubuntu, it can be as simple as snap install microk8s, or brew install microk8s on a Mac.

Charmed Spark and MicroK8s are free and open source software. You can get enterprise support for Charmed Spark and MicroK8s through Canonical’s Ubuntu Pro + Support plan. The plan is offered annually per host or per VM, with weekday or 24/7 options.
